JAMMU, Jan 16: A woman pedestrian was killed today after she was hit by a tanker in Gandhi Nagar area.
According to a police official, a speeding tanker today hit and seriously injured a pedestrian identified as Radha Devi (40) wife of Somnath, resident of Gajansoo (Halka Marh) near Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar.
“In unconscious condition, the injured woman was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors”, the official said, adding, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, he said that police had registered a case FIR No 11/2018 in this connection and the accused tanker driver namely Roshan Lal son of Hem Raj, resident of Brij Nagar, was arrested.
