SAMBA, Jan 16: To review the functioning of various water supply schemes in Samba constituency, State president BJP SC Morcha and MLA Samba, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal today convened a meeting of officers of PHE Department at R&B PWD Guest House Madana Block Purmandal near here.
Executive Engineers, PHE Samba , SK Abrol, PHE Rural, Rajesh Gupta and Mechanical Division as well as AEEs, AEs and JEs attended the meeting.
Residents from village Khara Madana, Kueli, Mandal, Purmandal, Gura, Manghnall, Sumbli, Babli and some adjoining areas were in the meeting.
The MLA enquired about the functioning of various water supply schemes besides reviewing the overall functioning of the department. Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of some water supply schemes in Samba, the MLA impressed upon the officers to show urgency and display synergy in improving the overall functioning of PHE in the district and also asked the Executive Engineer to take all necessary measures to streamline the functioning of all water supply schemes, assuring his complete cooperation and intervention wherever required to change the present State of affairs.
The MLA also urged the officers to expedite the works on ongoing water schemes especially in rural areas. Earlier, the Executive Engineer briefed the MLA about the functioning and he brought to the notice of the MLA the issue of staff, inadequate power supply, damages to water supply schemes due to ongoing developmental works which have led to disruption of water supply in some areas in the district. The MLA asked the officers to put in their best to ensure that potable drinking water is provided to everyone and that no one is deprived of this basic civic amenities.
