Rajendra visits CTC, takes stock of training activities

Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Additional Director of Police Armed/Law & Order (ADGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today visited Commando Training Centre (CTC) Lethpora and took stock of the pace of training being imparted to the recruits in the institution. He was accompanied by Deputy Inspectors General of Police, T. Namgiyal and Sheikh Abdul Hamid during the visit. While inspecting police contingents presently undergoing basic training course at the Centre, Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the cops to seek the principals of professional policing and discipline. He said that after completion of basic training, they would have to be deployed in different areas of policing, where they would have to exhibit high standards of discipline and patience. They have to prove themselves true public servants and would prefer security and safety of the people at the stake of their own comforts. Besides they would protect the rights of the people and ensure that justice is made to all without any discrimination, said ADGP. The ADGP asked the officers to impart training to the recruits in all fields of policing to make them able to take their professional assignments in a befitting manner. He said that the training moulds the career of the recruits and every step should be taken to keep them acquainted with the modern techniques of policing including crime control, crime detection, traffic management, maintaining of law and order, security of VVIPs and investigation. He said that the department has been making every effort to make police training institutions self sufficient in the form of training and building infrastructure. Earlier, the ADGP was apprised about the training infrastructure and activities being under taken in the centre. Principal CTC, Sanjiv Sharma informed the ADGP that the recruits are being trained by experienced trainers in all the fields of policing, besides special lectures are conducted to give them extra curriculum knowledge.
