JAMMU, Jan 17: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vikram Randhawa today inaugurated newly constructed lane and drain at Mohalla Tarkhana, Narwal Bala in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
While speaking, Randhawa informed that it was a long pending demand of the residents as despite repeated requests and reminders to previous legislators from Gandhi Nagar, none of them paid any heed.
He said that a deputation from the area approached him with the demand around a month ago and he immediately directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) Satwari and a lane and drain at the cost of Rs 4 lakh has been constructed.
He requested the public to keep the lane and drain neat and clean as it is their property now. He said that it is the responsibility of the locals of the area to see that public property is not damaged by anyone.
Randhawa asked the people to come forward and get aware about the various welfare schemes of the Government and get maximum benefit of them.
BDO Satwari, Shahid Iqbal who was also present on the occasion apprised the MLC Vikram Randhawa regarding the various developmental schemes of the block.
Among others present were Tarun Sharma, Amit Gupta, Beli Ram Bhagat, Subash Sharma, Maan Singh, Ajay Sharma, Mohinder Sharma and Gara Ram.
