Pensioners Welfare Society for amendment in SRO 64

JAMMU, Jan 19: State Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society in its meeting here today under the leadership of Mir Ghulam Rasool, its president highlighted  the problems of the working class and State pensioners .
Addressing the meeting, Mir said that the Government should clarify doubts about the regularization decision of casual laborers as there is a lot of confusion about the same.
He demanded amendment in SRO 64 to restore the regularization rights to daily wagers. He said confirming these employees in regular services is the right of these workers who are working as daily rate workers for years together and whose wages even for a long period were not restored.
He also demanded immediate implantation of hike in wages of daily rated workers as well as skilled workers both working in Government departments and PSUs.
Mir, while expressing concern over the condition of farmers said that Government should take measures to boost agriculture , horticulture and allied sectors in the State which are the backbone of the economy. He said these sectors have even been neglected in this budget too. Besides, steps be taken to start work on new power projects. He made a special reference to New Ganderal Hydro Electric Project which has been conceived 30 years back and later the work was not started.
Bashir Ahmed Dar, Baldev Raj Sharma, president Jammu province, Pran Nath Raina and others also attended the meeting.
