NEW DELHI: Jaguar Land Rover, the wholly owned British company of Tata Motors presented its luxury SUV Velar in India starting from Rs. 78.83 lakhs.
JLR India Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Suri said that presenting this range in India Rover’s portfolio is complete. Velar has received tremendous response from Indian customers and the booking till March is completed.
Velar has been introduced in two versions– diesel and petrol engine. The SUV having two liter diesel engine and petrol engine cost Rs 78.83 lakh and the three liters diesel engine version costs Rs one crore ten lakh.
The maximum power of a two-liter diesel engine is 132 KW at four thousand RPM while the 3-liter diesel engine has 221 KW. The maximum power of petrol engine is 184 KW at 5,500 RPM. It has eight-speed auto transmission. For safety, six airbags and seat belt reminders have been provided. There is also an anti-lock braking system and electric parking brake in all versions. Rear view camera and 360 degrees are equipped with parking assistants. During rain, wind wiper will automatically start cleaning the window screen. Sliding roof options have been given with all the versions. For tough terrains, Hill Dissent Control and Hill Launch Assist have been provided in all versions. (AGENCIES)
