SRINAGAR: Security forces launched a search operation in a south Kashmir Pulwama village after some firing shots were heard Monday afternoon, official sources said.
They said on a tip off about the presence of militants security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a joint search operation in village Lassipora, Pulwama this afternoon.
However, when the security forces were sealing the area, some firing shots were heard.
Additional security forces were rushed from nearby camps and all exit points were sealed, they said adding the operation was going on when the reports last came in.
A police spokesman also confirmed that a search operation has been launched after entire area was cordoned off when some firing shots were heard at Lassipora. (AGENCIES)
