Jeera, cloves fall on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 24: Jeera (cumin) and clove prices fell on local kirana market today on sluggish demand against increased supplies.
However, other spices moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said increased supplies against subdued demand mainly pulled down jeera and clove prices.
In the national capital, jeera common and best eased to Rs 14,700-14,800 and Rs 17,400-17,800 against last close of Rs 14,900-15,100 and Rs 17,400-17,800 per quintal, respectively. Cloves also declined by Rs 5 to Rs 630-725 per kg.

Ajwain 10,000-15,000, black pepper (per kg) 420-550, betelnut (kg) 160-195, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 820-920, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 920-1,020.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 730-830, cardamom (colour robin) 730-870, cardamom bold 720-780, cardamom extra (bold) 910-1,030 and cloves (kg) 630-725. (PTI)
