TIRUCHIRAPALLI, Nov 24: Executive Director, BHEL A V Krishnan has said that the time was ripe for BHEL’s ancillary and sub-contractors to take on the responsibility of process control, materials and logistics management, in addition to fabrication, in line with the away Centre Fabrication (ACF) model that BHEL has adopted to meet its project commitments to customers worldwide.
Mr Krishnan made this call while flagging off the first consignment of 140 tonnes of auto welded beams for the Lalitput (UP) 3 x 660 MW supercritical project.
Mr Krishnan said it was vital for vendors to adopt the ACF model to reduce delivery cycle time and to meet the increasingly tighter project supply schedules.
