JAMMU, Jan 25: Lieutenant General, Suresh Sharma has been awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) for his distinguished services of an exceptional order on 69th Republic Day.
Son of the soil, Lt Gen Sharma has been posted as Engineer-in-Chief (E-in-C) in the Indian Army at New Delhi. He has brought laurels for the people of Jammu and the whole State.
In a remarkable service career, General Sharma has earned the dual distinction of holding the office of Director General, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and Engineer-in-Chief, in the Corps of Engineers and has been associated with apex technical leadership roles in the Ministry of Defence.
As E-in-C, in addition to heading the Corps of Engineers and Military Engineering Services, Gen Sharma serves as the top Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Defence and Chief of the Army, Navy and Air Force. In 2016, President of India awarded him the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM). PVSM is the highest distinguished Service Medal awarded in the peace time.
