It is a matter of satisfaction that the State Government has decided to regularise the contractual and causal employees working in various State Government departments. It is also a matter of satisfaction that State Government has given a go ahead for implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations for its employees and pensioners. Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu deserve kudos for directing release of DA arrears in cash from July 2017. However, it was expected that the Government will enhance Medical allowance to Rs 3000 per month in favour of employees and pensioners but nothing of the sort was announced by the Finance Minister in his budget. It is requested that Chief Minister and Finance Minister should consider this plea of its pensioners seriously and sympathetically and enhance the Medical Allowance to Rs 3,000 per month.
