JAMMU, Jan 29: Shaheen Football Club defeated Novelty FC Anantnag, while Desh Bhagat University got walkover against Lone Star Srinagar in the ongoing 2nd Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Football Gold Cup, being organized by State Sports Club J&K at Mini Stadium, Parade, here.
In the first match, Shaheen FC defeated Novelty FC by four goals to two (4-2) via tie-breaker, while in another match scheduled for the day, Lone Star Srinagar players did not turn up because of their engagement in I-League at Delhi, so Desh Bhagat University was awarded walkover.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Kuamr, Vijay Kumar, Hilal Ahmad, Moon Stephen, Suresh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Rinku Gill and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
In tomorrow’s fixture, Young Hero’s will face J&K Bank at 1 pm and J&K Forest will lock horns with J&K Police at 3:30 pm.
