Kishtwar Campus organises one day seminar

KISHTWAR, Nov 26: The Department of Kashmiri, Kishtwar Campus today organized one day seminar on the topic “the contribution of Chenab valley to the development of Kashmiri language and literature.”
Noted Kashmiri poet Mohd Amin Doolwaal, Gulab Saifi and Prof Assadullah Wani were the resource persons of the seminar who threw light in detail on the poets and writers of Chenab valley and their contributions to the development of Kashmiri language and literature.  The seminar was presided over by Director Kishtwar Campus Prof Shohab Inayat Malik.
Speaking on the occasion, the budding poet Gulab Saifi threw light on the poetry of Rasa Javedani, a legendary poet of Kashmiri of Chenab valley. He said that it was Rasa Javedani who wrote ghazals in Kashmiri language keeping in view the techniques of ghazal. It was he who introduced ghazals in Kashmiri language.
While speaking in the seminar, Mohd Amin Doolwaal threw light on Kashmiri language and literature spoken in the Chenab valley.
Prof Assadullah Wani said that Chenab valley had produced poets and writers whose  contributions could not be ignored in the development of Kashmiri language and literature.
Prof Wani also threw light on the poetry of Nund Rishi (Shaikh- ul-Aalam)  whose forefathers were from Kishtwar.
On the occasion, Tariq Ahmed Itoo, student of MA Kashmiri sang a ghazal of Mehmood Ghami which was liked by audience.
The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Mohd Naseer ul Haq, Assistant Prof IT Department while Dr Kaiser Ahmed Malik, Assistant Prof Kashmiri Department presented vote of thanks. Beside students and civil society members, the seminar was attended by Ms Ritu Singh Parihar, Dr Kuldeep Kumar, Dr Bilal Ahmed, Naveed Danish, Pardeep Singh, Mubasher Hussain and Ashish.
