JAMMU, Nov 26: The National Panthers Party (NPP) today lodged a complaint with Election Commission’s Observer for MLC elections, Atal Duloo, Commissioner/ Secretary, Tourism Department against a Cabinet Minister and an Advisor to the Chief Minister for violating Model Code of Conduct.
NPP chairman and former Minister Harshdev Singh, MLA Ramnagar and Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur lodged the complaint on behalf of NPP candidates Mohammad Rafiq Chandel and Anita Thakur.
They alleged that the Cabinet Minister and the Advisor violated Model Code of Conduct by holding public meeting at Dak Bungalow, a Government building, in Doda, keeping Government officers with them during the meeting and using flasher lights on their vehicles.
All this amounted to violation of Model Code of Conduct, Harshdev Singh said in his complaint to the Election Observer.
Harshdev Singh and Balwant Singh Mankotia were in Doda town to campaign for their candidates when they found the Cabinet Minister and the Advisor allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
