PDP asserts Govt to take up const of fly overs

JAMMU, Nov 26: Led by its Jammu West president Puneet Jamwal, Jammu West unit of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) held a strong protest demonstration against State Government for delay in the constructions of flyovers in Jammu city.
Puneet Jamwal along with ward presidents Rajat Gupta, Rajkumar, Shishu Gandotra, Rommy Sharma, Rasal Singh, Vikram Singh, Vijay Anand, Om Prakash and C P Raju, assembled at Rehari Chungi and raised slogans against State Government, ERA and PWD.
He further said that increased traffic on city roads in the recent past coupled with the additional load that has hit the Jammu roads due to Darbar Move has intensified the traffic problems in the city of temples thereby aggravating the woes of common man in the State.
Shamsher Singh called for early commencement of construction work on flyovers from Bikram Chowk to Satwari, Amphalla to Janipur, Jewel Chowk to Canal road, Balwinder Chowk to Rehari, besides others in view of pressing public demands. He lambasted the Government for delay in taking up the flyovers programme despite sanctions and approvals for the same having been conveyed under Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scheme.
Gurdev Singh alleged that the Government has no intention and is not serious to construct fly overs at Rehari Chungi, Jewel Chowk under the influence of some influential and capitalist persons.
