NC’s SC Cell organizes workers convention

UDHAMPUR, Feb 4: The SC Cell of J&K National Conference at a convention held here today projected the issues of the Scheduled Caste community.
District president of the National Conference for Udhampur, Sunil Verma presided over the programme while Vijay Lochan Co-Chairman of party’s  SC Cell was the chief guest. It was organized under the leadership of  Raj Kumar, SC Cell Incharge for the district.
A large number of  SC community people and functionaries of the unit from various blocks of the district attended the convention. The block heads from different areas projected public issues with regard to the water and power scarcity, bad condition of roads, shortage of ration and non-availability of proper medicare facilities in their respective areas.
Vijay Lochan while speaking on the occasion alleged that PDP-BJP Government has totally failed to come up to the expectations of the people. He said there was no governance on the ground while public was deprived of basic facilities. The Government has also failed to protect reservation in promotions to the category employees.
He alleged that this Government has also failed to tackle the problems of border people. The people have lost their cattle and several precious lives. Many had to abandon their houses. They have not been properly facilitated by the Govt. Lochan also asked the party activists to gear up their activities in view of coming Panchayat elections.
Prominent among those present included, Adv Bharat Bhushan, Manmohan Verma, Jagdish Bhardwaj, Sohan Lal, John Wilson, Vicky Taroch, Satish Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Simar Dass, Sureshtra Devi and Joginder Lal.
