Jammu artists’ works shown in International Kala Mela

JAMMU, Feb 5: The works of four senior and well known artists of Jammu were displayed in the 1st International Kala Mela held recently at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) at Janpath, New Delhi.
The event was organized by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in collaboration with IGNCA) and inaugurated by Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu. Minister of State for Culture (I/ C) and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr Mahesh Sharma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
More than 800 artists from across the world took part in the festival. The artists from Jammu who participated in the event include ND Jamwal, TS Batra, Jang S Verman and OP Sharma. Landscapes of ND Jamwal, TS Batra’s expressionist works and Jang S Verman’s ‘No Paint Images’ were displayed in this International Kala Mela.
The exhibition was curated by OP Sharma, Director, J&K Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu.
