DODA, Feb 5: To project their long pending demands, the people from Bunjwah area held protest at Thathri, here.
Large number of villagers including youth led by Shafkat Shaheen, social worker assembled at Thathri Headquarters and held protest against the Government for its callous attitude towards the residents of Bunjwah. Jaffar, Younus, Athar Butt, Mohd Ashraf and many others were also present during the protest.
The protesters blocked the Doda-Kishtwar highway, due to which hundreds of vehicle got stranded.
They were demanding black topping of the Bunjwah road, public darbar by administration at Tehsil Headquarter Bunjwah and plying of SRTC bus from Kishtwar to Bunjwah.
After getting information, officials of District Administration Kishtwar including Tehsildar Headquarter Kishtwar Tanveer-ul-Haq, Naib Tehsildar Ahsan Hussain, DySP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan, SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani, and others reached the spot and assured the protesters that their demands will be redressed in the very shortest span of time.
On the assurance, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement on the highway was restored.
