KATHUA, Feb 6: For effective implementation of electronic Public Distribution System (e-PDS) before the set deadline of 31st March, a training cum awareness camp was today organized at Kathua for the ration dealers by the FCS & CA Department.
The camp was organized under the superintendence of DC Kathua, Rohit Khajuria. ADC, Rashpal Singh and AD FCS & CA, Ajay Salan were also present during the session.
At the outset, DC said that the Government has initiated the process of e-PDS to ensure digitization of Public Distribution System to make it more transparent, accountable and pilferage proof. He asked the concerned officers to adopt proactive approach for implementation of e-PDS in efficient manner to put an end to the ration pilferage in the district.
DC further informed that the training in groups will be provided to the dealers for acquainting themselves with the use of PoS machines.
He stressed that the Government was committed to safeguard the interests of consumers by bringing 100 percent transparency in the Public Distribution System (PDS) and asked the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the set deadline for completion of the project.
