JAMMU, Nov 27: Shia Federation today expressed satisfaction over the Muharram arrangements made by the Government but maintained that there was still scope for the improvement.
Addressing a press conference, Chief Spokesperson, Shia Federation, Jammu Province, Syed Fidha Hussain Rizvi, said though the Federation is satisfied with the Government arrangements for Muharram but there is still scope for improvement in  the arrangements.
Meanwhile, Rizvi reiterated the demand of the Federation to shift the Police Station, Peer Mitha, from Karbala Complex, to some other convenient place, as the Complex is the centre of religious activities of Shia community of Jammu, who have great religious feeling attached to it. But unauthorized occupation of some portion of land belonging to Karbala Complex has hurt the religious sentiments of the Community, he added.
“Earlier the issue was taken up with the Chief Minister in 2009 and 2011, who had assured proper relocation of the Police Station to some convenient place, but till date nothing has been done, which has caused strong resentment among the Shia Community”, the spokesperson disclosed.
Alleging that the said Police Station often causes great congestion during entry and exit of Imam’s Zaireens especially women and children, Rizvi demanded the Government to take immediate steps for proper relocation of Police Station instead of becoming a mute spectator.
