JAMMU, Nov 27: Jammu Police foiled bids to smuggle large number of bovine animals to Kashmir valley and arrested 11 persons.
Police spokesman said that police teams headed by S S Sambyal, SDPO East and Noor Ahmad, SHO Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu under the close supervision of SP City South Rajeshwar Singh seized four trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AS-5844, JK02T-6571, JK02AQ-3375, JK02AK-6741 and Tata Mobile vehicles bearing number JK02AF-4295 and JK02AS-8572.
From these vehicles, police teams recovered 52 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley. All the 11 smugglers were immediately arrested under 188 RPC and 3/Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act.
The smugglers have been identified as Parvaz, son of Gulam Nabi of Khanpur Nagrota, Mohd Ishaq, son of Mohd Mirza of Kukernag, Liaqat Ali, son of Mohd Shafi of R S Pura, Latif Ahmad, son of Mohd Hussain of Bathindi, Mohd Yousaf, son of Manzoor Ahmed, Manzoor Ahmed, son of Nawab Din, Ramzan Ali, son of Mohd Din, Farid Ali, son of Jamat Ali, all the residents of Ragoora, Mohd Aslam, son of Rehmat Ali of Sidhra, Mohd Rafiq, son of Noor Hussain of Bajalta, Naik Mohd, son of Bashi Ahmad of Ragoora and Roop Lal, son of Daya Ram of Samba.
The police team headed by Incharge Police Post Narwal, Hilal Mohd Azhar also seized one truck bearing number JK02AS-8825 and recovered 14 bovine animals from Narwal Bye-Pass.
It is pertinent to mention here that SSP Jammu, Vijay Singh Sambyal has issued directions for strict vigil on bovine smugglers.
Meanwhile, Bagh-e-Bahu Police recovered a stolen Auto bearing registration number JK02D-7408 and arrested the accused Sachin Kumar of Kacha Talab, Bagh-e-Bahu.
