Senior citizens of Aashraye enjoy outing, picnic

JAMMU, Feb 9: Senior citizens from Aashraye enjoyed an outing and picnic at the Wave Mall, here today. Although most of them were in wheel chairs, they had a lot of fun and were in high spirits. They enjoyed snacks and beverages.
With the weather becoming less cold, this was their first outing in a long time. Dhar, who is 95 years old one of the senior citizen said that he was happy to see the Mall and the progress visible all around. They were overwhelmed with the glittering shops and the crowds of shoppers of all ages. They felt that Jammu has become a smart city.
Bee Enn Charitable Trust is running Aashraye, a residential facility for senior citizens since 2005. Special Officer Mousamy Bhatti, who had arranged the outing, described Aashraye as a comfortable and affordable home where the seniors could live with comfort and dignity.
“At present there are 14 inmates who stay in Aashraye. The facility provides all conveniences, tasty vegetarian meals and 24 hours electrical backup. The close proximity of the Bee Enn General Hospital is an added attraction for the seniors. The Hospital is also managed by the Bee Enn Charitable Trust”, she informed.
