LEH, Feb 11: The fortnight-long personality development programme which was organized by Youth Wing of Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) concluded today in an impressive function held at LBA Riglam Hostel Saboo Thang.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Avny Lavasa, was the chief guest on the occasion. During the 14-day residential training, 53 girls aged between 10 to 18 years selected from different regions of Leh district were imparted training in Archery, English Speaking, Moral Education, Meditation, Career Counseling, Ladakhi Folk Song and Culture Education by different resource persons.
The programme was funded by nominated Councilor Rinchen Lhamo. On the concluding day today, the participated student exhibited their talent in archery, song, and dance and lecture presentation to enthrall the audience.
The DC asserted that apart from bookish knowledge one should also take part in all extracurricular activities to be a perfect human being and she urged the parent to support their children in such workshop. Advising the students to take benefit from such workshop, the DC said that this workshop is organized by the organization but now onus lies on everyone to work hard for making the future. She appealed them to contribute towards society by playing responsible towards society like following traffic rules, keeping the surrounding clean and helping the needy, etc.
Councilor Rinchen Lhamo, in her speech, assured to provide more help in future to grooms the girls.
LBA Riglam chairman/vice president PT Kunzang, LBA vice president Rinchen Namgyal, BSF SI Stanzin Norgyang (who led the women bikers on Republic Day) and LBA youth president, Konchok Ishey Stak, also spoke on the occasion.
Later, the chief guest distributed certificates among the participants.
