Sir,
This has reference to the photograph published on the front page of the Daily Excelsior on dated Nov 26.
Why should we always blame traffic police for the problems we create ourselves. It is not possible that traffic police can be deployed after every one meter to check overloading.
Most of the times, it has been seen that drivers stop the buses some meters before the point where traffic police personnel remain stationed.
The driver then asks the passengers to alight the vehicle, walk down beyond the point and board the bus again when it crosses the point. This ploy is used to hoodwink the police. Safety is a personal matter. In a dangerous situation a man always ensures his safety first, then that of others.
Then why does not people apply the same logic while boarding the bus.
It is for people to decide whether they should board an overcrowded bus or a bus that has some space inside for safe travel.
Unless people restrain themselves from boarding overloaded buses, accidents will continue to occur.
However, traffic police can’t escape from its responsibility.
Yours etc….
