JAMMU, Feb 13: In an impressive function held at Gole Gujral village of Marh constituency, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj/Law & Justice, Abdul Haq and former Minister and MLA Marh, Sukhnandan Choudhary, laid the foundation stone of Rurban cluster village Gole Gujral.
The cluster village Gole Gujral, which consist of small villages such as Trilokpur, Khariyan, Gole Gujral and parts of Hazuri Bagh, will be developed with the estimated cost of Rs 52 crore in first phase.
While speaking on the occasion, Abdul Haq said, “The mission SPMRM (Shyma Parshad Mukhrjee Rurban Mission) was announced in the Union budget 2014-15 under which Rurban development model of urbanization of rural areas will be fine which provides efficient civic infrastructure and associate services to the people living in Rural areas”.
He also informed that the Gole Gujral cluster village was recommended by the State Government and the same was chosen by the Central Government to develop it on modern lines.
The MLA Marh also spoke on the occasion and asserted that due to joint effort of State and Central Government they got this cluster village which will be urbanized by providing people all the facilities which the people of urban areas already have.
He also said that State as well as Modi led Government at the Centre are keen to develop rural areas at par with urban areas. He said that the total cost of the project will be around 100 crore and Rs 52 crores will be spent in first phase.
Director, Rural Development, Jammu, RK Bhat, ACD Jammu, Tassir, BDO Marh, Ranjeet Singh, SDM Marh, Tehsildar Marh and a large number of people of the constituency were also present on the occasion.
