Heavy snow fall on Mughal road, over 15 vehicles stranded

RAJOURI, Nov 28: The Mughal road has been closed to vehicular traffic due to heavy snowfall from this afternoon.
According to reports over one feet snow has been reported at Peer Ki Gali this afternoon. The movement of vehicular traffic from Srinagar to Rajouri Poonch and back has been closed. At Behram Gali 10 to 15 vehicles, which were on their way to Kashmir valley are stranded while four to five vehicles are trapped on the road from Peer Ki Gali to Chatta Pani, reports added.
The authorities have not also permitted plying of vehicles on Mughal road from Shopian side in Kashmir valley due to heavy snowfall.
The Police authorities in district Poonch also confirmed that the road has been closed for vehicular traffic to avert any incident.
Executive Engineer, Mughal road Ghani Jagal said that the road was already closed for vehicular traffic in view of the Winter season. However, it was opened for traffic during the recent visit of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently otherwise the road is closed for Winter.
