Two killed, one missing in car mishap at Mahore

REASI, Dec 1: Two persons including an SPO were killed, while third one went missing as a Tata Nano car landed in nearly 1000 ft deep gorge in remote Mahore area of district Reasi this evening.
Reports said the accident took place at around 7.30 pm when three youth namely SPO Chain Singh (26), son of Sher Singh of Chhajru, Arjun Singh (25), son of Des Raj of Chhajru and Satvir Singh (25), son of  Pritam Singh of Saar village left for Angrala from Saar village in a Nano car bearing registration No. JK-20/1438 at around 7 pm. They had gone to pick up a relative there. The place is about 25 km from Mahore sub-divisional headquarters.
When the vehicle reached near Bal village, it rolled down into deep gorge at around 7.30 pm. The people of the area came to know about the mishap later as a local informed them. They further informed police about the matter.
SDM Mahore Sher Singh and SHO concerned rushed to the spot. Mr Singh said it was total darkness and appeared very difficult to launch rescue operation in deep gorge. Some locals moved deep into the gorge and managed to trace and bring two bodies on the road at around 9.30 pm tonight. The deceased were identified as Chain Singh SPO and Arjun Singh.
SP Reasi, Mohan Lal said that third associate, namely, Satvir Singh was still missing and the police men, assisted by locals, using locally made torches (Masaras) were busy in tracing him. He said though there were no chances of survival, yet the search for him was continuing. “We can not declare him as dead till we get his body,’’ the SP said.
He said there was marriage of SPO’s sister yesterday and many guests were still at their home.  He had gone to pick up one of his relatives to the nearby village and met with the accident before he reached there.
