CP employees hold protest

SRINAGAR, Feb 24: All J&K Contingent Paid Employees Union today held a protest demonstration at Pratab Park and threatened to lock all the educational institutions if Government failed to fulfill their demands.
The protesters demanded that the qualified contingent paid employees in the Education Department should be regularized and Minimum Wages Act should be implemented in respect of unqualified employees.
“We had been asking to the Government for last so many years to come up with a clear regularization policy and give benefit of Minimum Wages Act to the unqualified employees who are working in Education Department on meager salaries,” Nazir Ahmad Rather, president of the Union said.
He said if the Government fails to fulfill their demands till February 26, they will be forced to lock educational institutes and come on roads.
