JAMMU, Feb 26: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of the J&K Grameen Bank, in collaboration with NABARD, organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme at village Chak Sakhian and Beaspur on the theme of public participation in promoting cashless economy under the Branch Offices Satrayan Camp and Dablehar respectively.
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, was the chief guest on the occasion. About 300 farmers/small shopkeepers/ labourers took part in the camp and they were made aware about RuPay Debit Card transactions, use of PoS Machine, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc.
Vipan Gupta explained the participants about the products, deposit and to avail credit facilities in general like Housing Loan @8.35%, Transport Loan@ 9% and Car loan @ 8.95%. He also stressed upon the schemes of small and big industrial loans and requested them to visit their branch without any hindrance for their all banking needs under one roof.  He stressed upon the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions that shall not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait times in the bank but shall give boost to direct revenues of the Government in the shape of tax collections utilised for development of villages.
Satpal Choudhary, Branch Head Satrayan camp, described the problems faced by the general public due to the unawareness of the availability of simple digital and cashless transaction methods. He impressed upon the public to learn and use of these cashless modes of payment.
BDO Suchetgarh, Mohinder Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion. Representatives of Line Departments like Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture, Education also attended the programme.
Prashant Abrol, Branch Head Dablehar, detailed regarding the schemes of the bank Car, Tractor, JLG and KCC loans of Rs.20 lac were also disbursed during the programme.
