Swabhiman Trust organises free medical camp

JAMMU, Dec 2: Continuing with its motive of providing free health services to people at their doorsteps, ‘Swabhiman’, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), in collaboration with Shri Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Hospital & Centre for Sight/ Sood Eye Clinic, conducted a free medical camp here at Aggarwal Dharamshala.
Senior Congress leader and former National general secretary, Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Vikram Malhotra was the chief guest on the occasion, who inaugurated the camp in the presence of prominent citizens of the area and a number of senior Congress party workers.
Sandeep Mengi, proprietor, Shri Maharishi Dayanand Hospital, Jammu, was the guest of honour.
A team of specialist doctors from Shri Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Hospital provided free consultation as well as treatment to the visiting patients.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said, “The better way to reach the genesis of the problem is to fight the problem rather than shying away from it.” He further suggested, “hiding of the minutest of the ailments could lead to vulnerability of the disease and thus should be taken care of at the earliest and in the right perspective.”
He laid emphasis on the periodical routine checkups to lead a healthy life. He also lauded the efforts and dedication of the doctors’ team and the management of Shri Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Hospital for extending cooperation and support in organizing the medical camps and providing free consultation to the suffering and needy people.
