RGPRS delegation meets Mir; completion of Check Dam demanded

KATHUA, Feb 26: The Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangthan (RGPRS) led by its convener, Karan Singh while taking the number of issue of development today said that delay in their completion has caused problems to common masses.
The deputation of the Sangthan met the Pradesh Congress Committee, State president, GA Mir during his visit to Kathua and highlighted the various issues before him. While highlighting the developmental issue, convener, Karan Singh demanded the execution of remaining works of Check Dam Khokhyal which is so far incomplete despite the spending of crores of rupees.
The Khokhyal Check Dam on Bujoo nullah was  started in 2008 with the target to irrigate nearly 5000 acres of land . But the 70% work has been completed during the  10 years and remaining work was stopped for lack of funds and the farmers are facing the loss due to that .
They also demanded the widening of road works from the Kathua to Nagari via Channgran. The Nagari is tehsil headquarter and connected with Punjab having the high flow of traffic. Due to link road at present caused serious problem for vehicles drivers and caused accident on the road. They demanded widening of road for speedy development of tehsil Nagari.
Among others Surinder Kumar , Tarsem Lal, Yashpaul, Joginder Pal were present in the deputation. The PCC president, GA Mir assured them to take these issue with the higher authorities and also in Assembly session for speedy development of deprived areas.
