While addressing a press conference, here today, the heads of socio-religious wing, retired employees, unemployed youth, students and women wing of JKRCEA drew attention towards various issues like construction of caste based crematoriums using public money, reservation in promotions, politicization of Asifa murder case.
Sham Lal Bason, head of socio-religious wing of JKRCEA said it was unfortunate that the public money was being used to construct the castes based crematorium. He further alleged that women from reserved categories in Domana were being prevented to perform bath ritual after death thus forcing them to perform the same in public premises in view of blockage of canal. He appealed the Government to take immediate remedial steps to curb such type of anti-social activities being encouraged at the behest of a few who are bent upon to disturb the peace of society. “If gone un-noticed by the authorities, this may later sometime turn into turbulence,” he warned.
Nighat Shafeeq of women wing of JKRCEA rued politics over barbaric murder of Asifa.  She said that Asifa was daughter of Bharat and her case should be dealt humanly only and all the political players should keep themselves away from the probe being conducting by the Government. She also appealed the Bar Associations, Chambers of Commerce & Industries of both the provinces of Jammu & Kashmir State, members of civil society and NGOs to press hard and plead for thorough and speedy investigation of this highly condemnable and horrendous crime so that the culprits be given exemplary punishment.
Prof G L Thappa,   while speaking on the occasion, said that delay in restoration of reservation in promotion despite issuance of directions by CM was unfortunate. He appealed the head of various administrative departments to pay due heed to this sensitive issue.
