All India Art Exhibition organised

JAMMU, Dec 2: As a part of week long celebrations in connection with the birth anniversary of Late VR Khajuria, an eminent Sculptor of the State, an All India Art Exhibition, was organized by Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK), Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, at Viraj Art Gallery.
The women artists from different parts of the country participated in this exhibition to pay homage to the renowned Sculptor.
On the occasion, MY Taing, Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council was the chief guest, who inaugurated the exhibition.
While speaking, MY Taing emphasized that the concerned agencies should come forward to promote art and culture and support the organizations working for the cause of art.
During exhibition, the works of Dr Mamta Singh (Dehradun), Pratima Singh (Lucknow), Mala Chawla (Amritsar), Aarti Sehgal Sharla (Jalandhar) and Priyanka Sharma, Ravinder Dhillon, Simarjeet (Amritsar), Rakhi Kumari (New Delhi), Raj Bharti, Late Gobind Kour and Reecha Gupta from Jammu were displayed in this show. The exhibition is being curated by OP Sharma.
The paintings, murals and sculptures displayed in the show depicted various themes. Mala Chawla and Dr Mamta Singh have displayed the fullness of nature depicted through blossoming plantation. Ravinder Dhillon, Reecha Sharma and Aarti Sehgal Sharma have used symbolism in their paintings and murals respectively. Raj Bharti’s water colour painting speaks lots about her artistic venture with full strength of medium. Priyanka Sharma and Simarjeet used realistic images to express themselves.  Portrait of different characters are the features of Late Gobind Kour showing her skill of portraiture in different mediums.

The Exhibition will remain open upto December 6.
