JAMMU, Mar 3: Contin-uing drive against the tax evaders, Commercial Taxes Department has recovered Goods and Services Tax (GST) dues to the tune of Rs 1.40 crore from the defaulters.
An official spokesman said that the department has detected unregistered service providers supplying services of rental and leasing and having a taxable turnover of more than Rs 45 crore in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Bahu Plaza, Channi and Narwal.
In a swift action, the jurisdictional authorities under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Adm) Jammu have recovered GST dues to the tune of Rs 1.40 crore and brought all the defaulting suppliers under the ambit of taxation in accordance with GST Legislations applicable in Jammu and Kashmir.
