DB disposes of PIL on assurance of AG

JAMMU, Apr 30: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Virender Singh and Justice Hasnain Massodi disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by National Panthers Party seeking setting up of Degree Colleges at Majalta, Chenani, Sunderbani, Kalakote, Magam and Gool.
Advocate General M I Qadiri, who along with Deputy Ags Vinod Bakshi and Neeru Goswami appearing for the State, submitted that Government has already taken steps towards setting up of Degree College at Majalta. He assured that the State Government would accord active consideration to the claim in respect of Chenani, Sunderbani, Kalakote and other places.
“An effort would be made to submit concrete proposals and get the same cleared as far as possible during current financial year”, Mr Qadiri further submitted.
In the light of assurance given by Advocate General, the Division Bench disposed of the PIL.
