JAMMU, Mar 5: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Firdous Tak today said that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was not treating young generation as mere vote bank but was instead channelizing their positive energy for building Jammu and Kashmir into prosperous and peaceful State.
“The present dispensation headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has initiated several measures in order to explore the potential of youth and channelize their energy in order to make them a stakeholder in building a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir”, he said while addressing a gathering of youth here today.
He said that the youth were always treated just a mere vote bank by political parties in past. “PDP introduced fresh and young blood in politics and ensure that they contribute in bringing change at the grassroot level”, he said adding that the recent initiatives by Mehbooba Mufti including Rehbar-e-Zirat, Rehbar-e-Janglat, Rehbar-e-Khail, infusing transparency in recruitment process, free education to girls, amnesty to more than 9000 youth and introduction of sports activities at block level is testimony of the fact that the present dispensation believe in development of youth in all spheres of life.
District president, Kishtwar, Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Som Nath Thakur, Dr Bal Krishan, Anoop Kumar and Mohammad Ramzan were present on the occasion.
