JAMMU, Mar 6: BJP MLC, G.L.Raina held an exhaustive evaluation meeting of the Relief Organisation (Migrants) in the office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner here today.
Besides, M.L.Raina RRC, K.K. Siddha, DC Relief and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Meeting was organised to review overall working of the Relief Organisation and also to assess impact of reforms undertaken during past few months including digitisation & introduction of online services like issuance of PRC, RBA, migration certificates & grievance redressal mechanism and feedback of people in this regard.
Relief Commissioner shared information about working of relief organisation, status of applications received by them under various categories and disposals made thereof.
It was also reported that Relief Organisation has envisaged various other schemes and administrative reforms that will further reduce difficulties faced by displaced community.
The MLC shared experiences of his extensive tour to Jagti Township and pointed out areas that need to be addressed immediately. These were regarding final disposal of output of STP, lacuna in repair works and allotment of shops to deserving applicants at an earliest. Allotment of quarters and need to construct more housing units was also underlined.
MLC also enquired about the progress of handover/takeover of Jagti Hospital by DHS; drinking water supply; medical, ration and other facilities to transit camps in Kashmir valley.
G.L.Raina expressed his disappointment over unexpectedly slow pace of progress in acquisition of land, construction & quality of transit accommodation for employees in Kashmir Valley. Raina appreciated the good work done by Relief Organisation.
