SAMBA, Mar 6: As a part of continuous drive against the menace of the drugs launched by District Police Samba, a Police Party of Police Post, Rajpura headed by SI Surinder Singh, I/C police post Rajpura seized one kg of poppy straw from the possession of one drug peddler Ranghuchak.
According to police a police party of police post Rajpura in close co-ordination of District Special Branch (DSB) of Samba and under the direct supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs Samba laid a surprise naka near Raghuchak & intercepted one Rakesh Kumar S/o Baldev Raj R/o Rajpura on suspicious ground.
During his frisking, one kg poppy straw was recovered from his possession and he was arrested on spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 45/2018 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
The police said that it has intensified the drive against the drug peddlers and bovine smugglers in the entire district on the directives of SSP, Samba Anil Magotra.
