Mid-Day Meal Scheme reviewed

JAMMU, Mar 7: Joint Director, School Education Department, Jammu, Charandeep Singh, reviewed the status of Automated Reporting & Management System of Mid Day Meal Scheme.
The scheme was reviewed during a meeting held in the Directorate of School Education. The meeting was attended by Zonal Education Officers of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi districts.
During the meeting, the Joint Director was informed that the districts are uploading the data on the MDM MIS portal of Ministry of Human Resource & Development, besides uploading of the monthly as well as daily data along with meals served in the schools in MDM ARMS portal.
With an objective to strengthen the Mid Day Meal cells, the ZEOs were directed to rationalize their staff and put dedicated officials in their respective offices for monitoring of the scheme. Charandeep Singh highlighted the importance of Mid Day Meal Scheme and urged upon all the stakeholders to work with zeal and dedication in order to achieve goal for which this scheme has been launched.
He further said that providing food to children in schools is not less than worship and it is a boon to humanity as it multiplies joy and divide sorrows. He called upon the officers to take keen initiative in achieving the targets as directed in portals i.e. MDM, MIS and MDM ARMS as per the standards of Ministry of Human Resource & Development.
He further stressed upon the participants for achieving 100% target in respect of uploading of MDM data into the portals in stipulated time, besides proper utilization of manpower at various levels.
