RAMNAGAR, Mar 9: To discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Chountra Mata pilgrimage during upcoming Navratras starting from March 18, a meeting of officers and Akhand Jyoti Committee members was convened under the chairmanship of Sub Divisional Magistrate Farrukh Qazi here today.
Threadbare discussions were held on arrangement of drinking water, power supply, security, first-aid, transport and sanitation at the shrine site and enroute.
The SDM directed the officers concerned to put in their best efforts in making available safe drinking water to the pilgrims at darbar and enroute also, besides ensuring uninterrupted power supply by using alternate sources.
He asked the officers of PWD and PMGSY to initiate necessary repair on link road from Kirmoo to Chaprian while as concerned Block Development Officer was directed to maintain the footpath and stairs leading to the shrine for the comfortable pilgrimage.
The Akhand Joyti would be lit on the first day of Navratra at Narsingh Ji Temple in Ramnagar town and would be carried to Chountra Mata Darbar on March 25, 2018 morning in a procession of devotees chanting religious hymns.
Various social and volunteer organizations would also organise free langars at holy darbar during the Navratras.
Among others, Tehsildar Ramnagar, Romesh Singh, Block Medical Officer, Mohd. Farooq Tak, Assistant Executive Engineer PHE, Rockey Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer PDD, Yash Paul Thakur, President Akhand Jyoti Committee Chountra Mata, Khem Raj Sharma, officers of various departments and representatives of Akhand Jyoti Committee, Ramnagar were present in the meeting.
