KISHTWAR, Mar 12: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Firdous Tak, today said that it is the endeavour of the present Government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to reach out at the doorsteps of the people and address their genuine grievances.
The legislator was interacting with various deputations which called him here today. The deputations were from Marwah, Dachan, Warwan, Nagsena, Kwar and Padder. Various issues were taken up by the deputations with the district administration and on the spot directions were issued to address them.
Tak said that the present Government headed by the Chief Minister has focussed on the overall development and prosperity of the rural masses and several measures have been initiated in order to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the people living in hilly and backward areas.
He referred to several schemes and measures initiated in the social welfare sectors and said that it was now up to the administration to ensure that the benefit reaches to the deserving and needy people in remote areas of the State. “The administration at the grass root level has to move out of the traditional approach in mitigating the sufferings of masses”, he added.
“The PDP has not only been able to ensure pro-people and all-round development initiatives during the past three years but it has also ensured accountability and transparency in the system. During its rule, the NC leadership pushed the State into darkness and unending woes. It created a political vacuum and distrust among masses that resulted into chaos,” Tak said.
The MLC said that the PDP has toiled hard to win back the trust of people who have started reposing faith in political and democratic setup. “These achievements of PDP have mounted the level of frustration within the power-hungry National Conference and Congress”, he said.
Tak said the ruling PDP-BJP is committed to take the State on the path of development and progress. “The mischievous and diversionary tactics will not deter us from marching on our agenda of restoring peace and prosperity,” he added.
