POONCH, Mar 14: In the memory of martyred DySP, Manjeet Singh, who attained the supreme sacrifice while fighting with terrorists on March 14, 2003 near Poonch Bus Stand, a memorial park was inaugurated by SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey at Shaheedi Sathal of the martyr here today.

SSP and other senior police and civil officers, some prominent citizens and media persons paid rich tributes to the martyr and garlanded his statute.
Additional SP Poonch Anwar- ul- Haq, CPOs, DySP DAR Mohan Lal Sharma, DySP Headquarters Shahid Nahiem, DSP Operations Poonch Dr Saleem, other dignitaries from the town paid rich tribute to the brave Police Officer who saved many precious lives of the people at Bus Stand during terrorists’ attack and made supreme sacrifice.
“The Police department is proud to salute the martyr who sacrificed his life while serving the nation. Though the sacrifice of martyr can never be compensated, we as a mark of respect made this memorial park as to also keep memory of this brave Police Officer always afresh in our minds,” Pandey said.
Another function in this regard was held in District Police Lines Poonch, where floral tributes were paid at `Shaheedi Sthal’ of the martyrs and special prayers were offered for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
