NEW DELHI, Mar 15: Chana prices moved up by 1.05 per cent to Rs 3,724 per quintal in futures trade today as participants raised bets, driven by rising demand from dal mills at spot market.
Besides, tight stock positions following drop in arrivals from producing regions, fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April contracts was trading higher by Rs 39, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 3,724 per quintal with an open interest of 92,360 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in the current month contract gained Rs 37, or 1 per cent, to Rs 3,771 per quintal in 13,400 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to surging demand at spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions. (PTI)
