SAMBA, Mar 15: An inspiring programme titled ‘Mai Kya Banungi’ was organized at Hotel 17 Miles Vijaypur today by District Administration Samba, enabling interaction between women achievers and young girls of various schools, colleges, polytechnics.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Sheetal Nanda, was the chief guest on the occasion. Chairperson, Heritage School, Sunita Gupta, Enterpreneur Tervinder Kour, RJ Radio Mirchi Shwetima Jamwal, renowned singer Sonali Dogra and women cricketer Nadia Chowhdary shared their rich experiences with students and replied to their queries related to career and real life situations. The girls responded positively to achievers suggestions by relating those to their career choices and ambitions.
A magazine titled ‘Journey of two years’ showcasing activities held under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign was launched at the function. Women from different Self Help Groups who had taken lead in trades like Dairy, Boutique, and Tailoring were also felicitated. Music Director, Composer and Singer of district administration’s BBBP ringtone were also felicitated at the function.
Speaking at the programme, Sheetal Nanda urged participants to take firm resolve to achieve their aims. She said that students can take inspiration from the women achievers and aspire to make contribution to society.
Nodal Officer BBBP and DSWO Samba, Shafqat Majeed Bhat, lady officers, frontline workers of BBBP and staff members of different schools and colleges were also present on the occasion. Today was the concluding day of fortnight long activities for Pan India launch of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
