SRINAGAR, Mar 15: Army at Badamibagh Cantonment organized a ceremony for the distribution of blankets and solar lanterns today.
An Army spokesman said the sole aim of this initiative was to support under privileged families by providing blankets and solar lanterns for their needs during harsh winters of the valley.
“100 families of Batamaloo, Bemina, Shalteng and Lawaypora areas of Srinagar were identified as beneficiaries of the initiative through a non profit organization called “Subah Kashmir Welfare Trust”. In the chilling winters of Kashmir and power cuts these families were in urgent need of these items ,” he said.
