JAMMU, Mar 15: Retired personals from J&K Fire & Emergency Services Department today projected their burning demands during a press conference organized by their representatives here today.
The representatives of the retired persons of the department said that they served the State with full dedication and honesty during last three decades and retired from services during 2016-18. They said that at the time of implications of 6th Pay Commission, discrimination took place and they were not upgraded to the higher pay scale.
“We represented the case before the Government regarding the implications of 6th Pay Commission, recommendations with effect from 2006 and as resultant, Government issued an order recently to implement the 6th Pay Commission recommendations in favour of the employees of the J&K Fire & Emergency Services Department i.e. serving Sub Officers and leading firemen, with effect from 10/2014 notionally and 02/2018 mandatory but we were ignored”, they said.
They said that retired employees also deserved this benefit for which they struggled at every corner. They demanded the Finance Minister, Altaf Bukhari, to extend the benefit of 6th Pay Commission to all retirees of Fire and Emergency Department who were working in the period i.e. 2006 to 2008 simultaneously at par with the employees presently in service.
