JAMMU, Mar 16: Dr Mandeep Singh Azad, working as Scientist/subject matter specialist SKUAST-Jammu, was awarded prestigious Netherland Fellowship for short course training programme at Wageningen University, Netherlands, which he attended recently.
He was the only candidate from India selected for this programme. A total of 1200 candidates worldwide applied and only 27 got selected. From India, more than 100 scientists were shortlisted for the fellowship but only Dr Mandeep Singh was selected. He was awarded Netherland Fellowship by Netherland Government for attending this programme. The training was concentrated on Market access to food security. He also gave presentation on markets, market systems & marketing in Jammu and Kashmir He and his team also submitted a project on Goat farming for livelihood security to host institute.
