JU adopting favoritism in job interviews: NSF

JAMMU, Dec 5: Continuing with the indefinite protests against the University authorities, the students and scholars of University of Jammu (JU) today held a protest demonstration across the campus under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF).
They leveled serious charges of favoritism and nepotism on University authorities in job interviews.
State senior vice-president, NSF, Surjit Choudhary, alleged that the candidates who were appearing for interviews of permanent JE, Programmer and other grades, were being asked to pay for their selection.
He flays the JU authorities to ignore the contractual workers working in different departments, at the time of making permanent recruitments. Committee Chairman played a major role in doing that so as to adjust the blue eyed and his nears and dears, he maintained.
He further said that the lone post of media officer, which was created long back in 2008, does not seem to be in operation anywhere.
He also held the University officers responsible for misusing the University vehicles for their personal use.
NSF appealed the Chancellor of the University to look into the matter and hold an inquiry to put the culprits behind bars.
