Addressing a press conference here at Undergraduate Boys’ Hostel, Saurav Katoch, RDA president condemned the termination of Dr Amit Kumar, stating that it is attack on freedom of expression of the doctors, who are also citizens and have some right.
He said that it is first time that any doctor has been terminated under any SRO, therefore we have submitted a notice to College administration to revoke the order within two days, failing which RDA will suspend OPD work from March 21 in a phased manner and if still the order is not revoked, all the emergency services will be closed by the RDA from March 23.
The RDA president said that all the doctors’ associations from Jammu as well as Kashmir have extended support to them for the agitation.
Meanwhile, RDA SKIMS have strongly condemned the undemocratic sacking of Dr Amit Kumar from the post of Registrar, Anesthesia, GMC Jammu, and has urged the authorities to reinstate Dr Amit with honour and dignity to avoid escalation of the grave issue.
