Zangtrai celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Mar 20: Zangtrai a festival of women was celebrated with fervor and gaiety here today. In this connection functions were held at various places in which a large number of women drawn from different places participated.
A grand function was held at K P Sabha, Ambphalla which was presided over by Sabha president, K K Khosa. Prof Veena Pandita, Chairperson J&K Board of School Education was the chief guest on the occasion. The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Dr Sujata Sathoo a well known social activist, Shama Ji, Dr Usha Tickoo.
Shanti Lal Sidh a well known singer made the atmosphere serene with his bhajans. In his address Khosa said women folk have to play a greater role into transforming community into model society. While Prof Veena Pandita wished for greater participation of women in social upliftment .
Another function was held at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram Udaiwala Bohri in which well known singer Naina Saproo was the chief guest. Hundreds of women participated in the function who paid obeisance to the lotus feet of Bhagawaanji.
Artists of repute Deepali Wattal, Ravi Bhan, Iqbal Koul, Nirmal Koul, Pallavi Koul, and upcoming talent Arti Razdan, Neerja Raina, R K Saproo, Nimrit Raina, Anmol Raj, Himanshu Pandita, Anjali Pandita and Daksh Bhat presented melodious devotional songs on the occasion.
Zangtrai was also celebrated by Kashmiri Sahayak Samiti Trikuta Nagar today in which large number of KP community members and a sizable number of women participated.
President and general secretary of the Samiti Shiban K Moza and Kewal Sher respectively formally launched the function while P N Jalla briefly explained the significance of enriched cultural traditions.
Zangtrai was also celebrated at Sharika Peeth Sanstha, Subash Nagar in which a large number of women participated in a traditional way. Durga Sapthshati was recited on the occasion and women were presented a token of gift as per tradition. The function was held under the chairmanship of M K Jalali president of the Sanstha.
Zangtrai was also celebrated at Shree Hari Kirtan Satsang Adiyatmik Jagrati Mission at Neelkanthayeshwar Mandir, Durga Nagar Enclave in accordance with Kashmiri culture. A large number of women participated and Basant Kumar recited bhajans while J N Raina presented vote of thanks.
Jangtrai was also celebrated at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi in which Swami Kumar Ji gave religious discourses and highlighted the significance of the day.
Welfare Committee Sharda colony patoli Brahmana also celebrated Jangtrai at Shiv Mandir with religious fervour and gainty.
